Starting in January.

The following program has been designed by the ICC academic staff in order to fulfill the needs of the most demanding people. This package offers 5 hours of daily intensive Spanish instruction and cultural activities.

ONE WEEK INCLUDES:

1.- 5 hours tuition.

Spanish levels I to XII consists of two courses, as follows:
From 9am - 12pm “Grammar in Action”
From 4:30 pm- 6:30pm “Conversational Idiomatic Spanish Classes”

Grammar in action. Is the combination of the tradional approach for teaching SSL and the acquisition of communicative competence,increasing the number of language learning activities that are prevalent in the classroom today. Learning through interaction puts the student at the center of the learning process.

Conversational Idiomatic Spanish Classes. Two hours of listening-conversation skills in order to expand vocabulary for communication, and to teach writing skills in a simple clear style. It tries to reflect the great linguistic variety of the Hispanic world.

If you have been exposed to any learning experience, then you must take a placement test in order to determine your proper proficiency level . If that is the case, please arrive to Oaxaca prior to the Monday your course starts.

2.- All the learning materials are included (book, notebook, pencils & pens).

3.- We offer 3 workshops on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from which you can choose according to the next two options:

a) Mexican Cooking from 1:00 pm - 4 pm ( 3 hrs.) or,
b) Indigenous weaving or
c)Tropical dance from 1:00 pm-2:30 pm and 2:30pm-4:00pm.

Lectures and workshops are given by well-known Oaxacan native professionals.

4.- 2 lectures offered

Mondays and Thursdays from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm ( ie. "Traditional Celebrations", “Indigenous Clothing”,” Indigenous Herbal Medicine”, “The Mexican Educational System", “Oaxacan Painters” , “ Woman´s Role in the Actual Mexico”)

5.- Five students per class for better results.

6.- 2 field trips

( Friday and Saturday): Field trip to the Ocotlan Indigenous Market, outstanding artisans and the house of the famous painter Rodolfo Morales. Second trip to archeological sites

7.- Housing for Seven days (optional).
With a Oaxacan family in your own room with your own bathroom, including all meals.

6.- Students of the ICC have free access to receive and send e-mail.

7.- Oaxaca Airport Pickup

COST OF THE ICC SPECIAL PACKAGE:
Per week per student $450 US (including the housing and all the meals)
Per month per student : $1800 US (including the housing and all the meals)

Without housing assistance:
$250 US per week

CREDIT
Students should verify the requirements in order to be acredited from their respective universities prior to attending the ICC. Our classes have been accepted for credit by many universities in the U.S. and Europe.

HOW TO REGISTER

In order to reserve your spot please register now by filling out our on-line application form, let us know in advance prior your arrival for proper arrangements. 50% deposit is required prior your arrival with a letter of introduction of yourself by e-mail or by regular mail including important information like allergies, health problems or any specific needs. If for any reason you cancel two weeks prior your arrival, you get 25% of your deposit back or we can credit you for your next visit.

Send us your deposit (personal check or Traveler Checks) under ICC´s name. In order to avoid mail problems please try to use an overnight mail service (FedEx, DHL). At your arrival you can pay the balance in the ICC offices with cash, traveler Checks or credit cards (Visa or MasterCard, ). Our mailing address is:

If you are planning to study per week, just let us know the dates as soon as possible so we can confirm your housing arrangements. Classes start every Monday all- year- round.
